A Downtown Mobile, Alabama Engagement Session
Tricia & Ben| Downtown Mobile, Alabama Engagement | 03.22.2018
Tricia and I met at Starbucks and quickly got to chatting about their wedding day plans. We discussed their ceremony location as well as the plans for their reception. We also discussed ideas for their engagement session. They LOVE and spend a lot of time in Downtown Mobile. We decided that we would meet in Downtown Mobile, Alabama for their engagement session.
The engagement session…
I met Tricia and Ben at Bienvielle Sqaure. The gorgeous city park is decorated with beautiful iron workings and a very handsome fountain. In the evenings, the light that comes through the old live oaks is stunning. I wasn’t able to meet Ben before the session and I could tell that he was not crazy about the idea of being in front of the camera. I asked him to tell Tricia something to get her to laugh. Ben is extremely creative and started to explain to Tricia how to make melon salad. Apparently, melon salad can only contain two melons, not three. It must also include mayonnaise.
Once we finished at Bienville Square, we walked down Dauphin Street. We found a great empty lot that had a raised vegetable garden and a wall with greenery growing all the way up it. I had Tricia and Ben stand in front of the wall and dance for me. This is one of the easiest way to get people to loosen up and offer natural smiles.
We continued on our walk and landed in Cathedral Square. Tricia had mentioned this location in our meeting and it was on our way to our final spot. I was able to catch them in an intimate moment with a perfect sun flair beaming into my lens. We jumped over to Conti to reach our last two locations. We stopped by a ginormous palm tree next to Azalea Manor and then doubled back to the other direction. Tricia and Ben frequent The Garage as their downtown watering hole. This was a fantastic last stop. We were able to grab a photo in front of the pub and then head inside for a cold drink.
Tricia and Ben were so much fun to photograph. They are super easy going and love to cut up and joke. Thank you guys for a good afternoon. We also couldn’t have asked for better weather!
Engagement sessions are becoming my favorite portrait sessions! Spending time with a couple that is head over heels for each other is seriously rewarding.
